About ARTworkz

Artworkz is based by the sea in Lowestoft, Suffolk on the most easterly point of East Anglia, and is run by Stephen Wilson and Ryan White…

Ryan says…

Stephen Wilson is a bit of local celebrity in and around Lowestoft mainly due to his 30 year long devotion to the Lowestoft Players where he still regularly treads the boards. From Fagin to Pantomime Dame and from Director to Chairperson there is very little he doesn't know about the theatre.

Stephen graduated as an artist at Loughborough University before teaching art in Woodbridge, Suffolk. As well as co-owning ARTworkz he now works as a freelance designer with most of his work linked specifically to the entertainment and themed leisure industries (if you look very carefully you may still find him lying on a slab in the Edinburgh Dungeons!)

Stephen's real love and passion is still the theatre and his scenery and set designs can be seen all over the country. If you're a regular theatre goer you've probably already seen his work!

Stephen is a musical fanatic and likes nothing more than to head off to London to take in four musicals over two days!

Stephen also regularly teaches at the NODA Summer School and still gets a buzz from sharing his talent with others.

I, on the other hand, am very much an appreciator rather than producer of Art. I spent most of my life in London amongst an abundance of theatres, galleries and museums. I was never a great fan of musicals and had never even seen a pantomime as a child. I was always keener on Shakespeare and 'deep and moody' plays!

Moving to Suffolk was quite a culture shock for me, but I was fortunate to get involved with the Lowestoft Players which is where I met Stephen and my initiation into the 'world of musical theatre' began.

ARTworkz is our way of making a professional design service available to those who wouldn't normally have access to it (or the budget!)

We sincerely hope you enjoy our website and that you'll contact us to discuss how we may be able to help you with all your design requirements.
